This is the eight week of the Naijaloaded Music Review by @Owosenii.
It’s always non-stop music on the Naijaloaded Music Category as you already know.
Selection of some of the best songs released this just concluded week has been made for review, dated from August 14th to August 20th.
Sere by Olamide : Olamide seems to be really preparing for another album this year as Naijaloaded had earlier reported.
This is my stand-out pick out of the two tracks he dropped because of so many reasons. Dance-able and jonzing track for real but this track has some kind of depth most people will refuse to see because of the vulgar parts of the song which obviously will be mostly/easily focused on. His childhood ghetto story was told on this record, don’t forget where he said if not for God, they might have become an armed robber, he wasn’t joking because that’s easily the story of an average Nigerian child growing up in the ghetto, just look around you.
NO by Wale Turner : Wale Turner is the future and this is a very good debut. Pheelz gave his best on this record and Wale Turner didn’t disappoint though people might have expected something fiercer than this from him because of the standard he has set for himself with his dope studio freestyles. This is still a decent debut track.
Owo Blow by Olamide : Olamide reminds us on this record that he is still a dope rapper but truth be told, he’s more playful with words these days than fierce when he raps. He’s on that level where he almost can do no wrong musically and would get away with anything an ordinary/regular artist wouldn’t get away with. The secret is, Olamide knows what the street wants to hear, what they can easily relate to, what turns them up and he gives it to them back to back. Major Bangz gives a very solid production on this record.
Pick Up The Phone, Rewind Dat & Sweat (Refixes) by Wizkid : All of the three songs easily made it to the good music category not just because he’s Wizkid. He is obviously getting ready for his international take over and this is Wizkid experimenting his own ability on their own production/sound and dropping it for his fans to enjoy. I’ll call the move a successful experiment but there’s still so much room for improvement if he wants to be taken serious by the international audience and also wants to eat from the big apple, especially his lyrical prowess.
Feego by Reminisce ft Seriki, Ola Dips & Ice Prince (Cypher Sessions Vol. 2) : Banging Hip-Hop joint by the rappers supported by a quality production and relatable rap deliveries.
Drop It by Emma Nyra : Emma Nyra shines on this number as she smoothly delivers on a well produced Fliptyce beat.
Carolina by Que Peller ft Olamide : Olamide was the saving grace of this song. Que Peller is good and he needs to show it by staying consistent. The production is top notch and it qualifies as good music but Que Peller can and should do better.
One Day by Daddy Showkey : Inspirational and uplifting song by the music veteran.
Wigili by Dr Amir ft Kcee, Harrysong & Skiibii : Obviously a dance track and sounds a bit like Mo’blow’s Wiggle. They all delivered but nothing out of the ordinary, good music still.
Salute by Yousluv : The young rapper killed every inch of this beat. Big potential right here.
Fire In The Booth (Remix) by Leke Lee ft Oladips & Min : Smooth hip-hop happening here, the three rappers all delivered comfortably on the well produced hiphop beat.
Can’t Wait by Angeli X Moskillz : There’s talent here, plenty of it. Top notch delivery from the chorus to the verses.
Skolo by Swazzi : DJ Coublon does what he knows how to do best to make this track a beautiful one. Swazzi also connected well with the instrumentation.
Price My Style by BXY : This is a very melodious dance track. This kind of track is good enough to introduce a new artist to a large audience.
Is This Love by J-Grillz : The E-Kelly produced record is truly a love song with an outstanding melody.
